The TIDE says Thank You Beloit

I would like to thank all those people involved and those who supported the Purple Tide in the last year.

First I would like to thank my coaching staff: Kim Waite, Andre DeKok, Katie Detling, Jacob Truby, Leah Prins, Abby Vogel, Ashley Culver, Lisa Moore, Margo Grover, Taylor Ingolia-Brown, Christian Daniels, Maggy Locke, and Lindsey Hassenfelt. I also need to thank all of the Tide swim teachers and Krueger swim teachers who have all come through our program, who do an outstanding job of teaching swimming and help make swimming cool and safe. I have always said you do not get any where by yourself, you coaches and teachers help me and this team look very good.

Second, the coaches would like to thank the parents, of the swimmers for getting their kids to practice, cheering at the swim meets and most of all promoting swimming in the stateline area.

I also need to thank those people who durning the year helped with team in support area's. Bob Daniels for video taping high school meets, officiating our summer home meet, working the table at girls high school meets. Dana Schober for feeding our high school boys team at different times durning the season. Chase Hankins for underwater, video taping swimmer during the school year. I also need to thank Mrs. McNulty the Web-Master for our team web-site. Mrs. Prowse for helping me at the Platteville meet with the entry cards, she was a life saver that day. Mr. Seils the athletic director at BMHS, Spencer Waite head of Liesure Services City of Beloit for supporting swimming and making the Summer Tide a reality. To the many parents who took pictures durning the seasons: Mr. Schober, Mr. Prowse, Mrs Saladar, Mr. Moore, and Mrs Hamilton.

This summer over 170 kids swam on the summer Tide this season, and over 300 kids called themselves Purple Tide over the last year. In the year 2000 there were less than 50 kids in Beloit that call themselves swimmers. Our Middle School Boys this year won its third straight Dual City Conference Title. The Lady Tide won it's seventh straight NISCA Academic Award with a team GPA with a 3.79. The High School Boys sent four swimmers to state, finished 25th in the NISCA national dual meet rankings and had a team GPA of 3.65.

Last I would like to say thank you to the Beloit Community for passing the school referendum. Part of that referendum was a new pool at the high school. Not only will this help the future of swimming in Beloit, but it will help the children of Beloit learn to swim and make our community safer around water.

Sincerely,

Dick Vogel
Head Swimming Coach BMHS Boys
Head Swimming Coach and Manager Krueger Pool
