Purple TIDE says Thank You

BELOIT PROUD!!!

I have lived, coached, and taught in Beloit for over 32 years, yesterday reaffirmed my belief in Beloit.

This is a GREAT TOWN!!

Yesterday was a great day for Beloit, and Beloit Memorial High School. There were over 1,100 spectators, swimmers, coaches, and volunteers in the new natatorium. All people could say was Wow, Amazing, Good Job Beloit, You deserve this, etc...

The Pool is Fast!! Based on the times by all of the swimmers, and the coaches comments. Having the natatorium lobby attach to the field-house was genius. It made for a natural flow for concessions and a rest area for the athletes. Former UW-Madison women's swim coach Carl Johansson was at the meet; after the meet he came up to and told me that "we built this right". He was really impressed.

Now it is time for the Thank You's.

1st: Mr. Steve McNeal, Dr. Thomas Johnson, and the school board for having the vision to make this referendum happen. Also Charles Seils Athletic Director for all his support for our great sport.

Kathy Berg-Vogel, Matt & Sarah Roegner, Criss Gianvecchio for organizing the coaches/workers food and the concession stand.

All of the girls, boys, and middle school parents for all of their hard work and dedication to their children to make this event happen.

TIDE Women coaching staff (Kim Waite, Abby Vogel, and Brian Michels) for helping me organize the swimmers who were not swimming to time at the meet. Also for all the other little things that make a swim meet work.

BMHS Tech.Ed. for the construction of the Awards Stand. We had a lot of positive compliments on the stand. That you could put 4 swimmers on a stand safely.

Jessica Everson for being the head timer with help from her swimming children as runners for the officials.

Tom Michels for organizing the awards, Jessica Vogel for playing the awards music.

Coach Andre DeKok, Coach Jacob Truby, Robert and Christian Daniels for running the scoring table.

Sharia Anderson for her great National Anthem.

Tracy Saladar for washing the workers shirts

Head Lifeguard Gabby DeKok, Tyler Dirksen, and Heydi Ramos for keeping the swimmers safe.

Gary and Pam Schumaker organizing fundraising.

Visit Beloit for the coaches swag.

Rick McGrath and Ana Kelly for the restaurant hand outs for the out of town spectators

Jason Schroeder for all of the great photography

BMHS Custodial Staff keeping everything clean and looking good.

Larry and Lisa White Backup diving scoring

All of the Volunteers that worked the doors, guided people, worked concessions, helped with clean up.

If I forgot anyone I apologize, you are all important to the success of our program.

Thank You Beloit!!

Go Knights, Go TIDE, Beloit PROUD!!
