Lady TIDE 6th at BIG8 Meet

The TIDE finished 6th at the BIG 8 Conference meet this past weekend at Beloit Memorial High School Natatorium. The 18th ranked TIDE women swam a very strong meet against the best teams in the state. The Big 8 traditionally the Best Conference in the WIAA, with the Top 5 teams in the conference ranked in the top 7 in the current WISCA Coaches Poll.
#1 Middleton women easily out distance #3 Sun Prairie, with #5 Madison Memorial just getting by #4 Verona and #7 Madison West finishing 5th.

The TIDE was lead by Heaven Wells finishing 4th in the 100 backstroke and the 200 Free Relay also medaling with an 8th place finish. The 200 Free Relay swam the 2nd fastest time in school history with a 1:42.80. The team was made up of Wells, Amya Bessel, Jayda Bessel, Clare Santas. It was the first time in 26 years that the TIDE Women medaled a relay at the BIG 8 conference meet.

14th Place; B Relay Lulu Champeny-Johns, Kate Gianvecchio, Prasia Jackson, Makenzie Phelps 2:02.72

200 IM:
11th Place; Heaven Wells 2:16.55 2nd Fastest school history
Katie Landon 2:21.51 6th Fastest school history

500 Free:
Sydney Prowse 5:47.81 10th fastest school history

200 Free Relay:
14th Place B Relay; Makenzie Phelps, Prasia Jackson, Noa Levy, Katie Landon 1:49.59

100 Breaststroke:
Sydney Prowse 1:16.02 6th fastest school history

400 Free Relay:
9th Place; A Relay Amya Bessel, Jayda Bessel, Katie Landon, Clare Santas 3:52.97 8th Fastest School History
14th Place; B Relay Bea Champeny-Johns, Lulu Champeny-Johns, Noa Levy, Kate Gianvecchio 4:12.04


The TIDE's next meet is Saturday at Middleton high school for the WIAA Division 1 Sectional Meet. Meet starts at 1:00. More information on tickets to be released soon.
