Up coming events for the Beloit TIDE.

April 21st: Beloit TIDE starts Organized practices 
                  3:30-5:00pm  Monday - Thursday.
            BMHS Pool (HOME)
Remember Coaches are volunteering at this time and there is no cost until summer. 

June 14 and 15: Beloit Aquatic is Hosting Meet at BMHS Pool.
            Excellent Fundraiser (Concessions) 
            At December BAT meet, TIDE made a very nice profit. 

We will need workers for this event,  all funds support all TIDE swimmers, at all levels.

Weather permitting we can set up concessions on our patio and grill.

June 16: Beloit TIDE start summer practices at both Krueger and BMHS. Two a days for high school swimmers and more advanced. More information on practice times will posted at a later date.

June 16: Beloit TIDE Diving Starts 12:00-1:30 at BMHS Pool. 
Dr. Ken Johnson BMHS diving coach will be coaching this program. More information to come.

June 21: Dual meet with Platteville Swim Club at Krueger (BMHS if Rain).

July 13: Rockford Open at Alpine Pool Rockford Illinois. 

July 19 or 26: Platteville Open. Will post when we find out.

TIDE Academics 2013-2014

It's been another outstanding year for the BMHS Purple TIDE in the classroom.

TIDE Women's Varsity GPA 3.904 NISCA Gold Award 9 years in a row. Gold is a Varsity team GPA of 3.75. The women had 13 4.0 GPA swimmers on Varsity this year.

TIDE Men's Varsity GPA 3.716 NISCA Silver Award, 9th academic team award. Silver is a Varsity team GPA of 3.5.

Eight WISCA All-State and NISCA All- Americans:

WISCA All-State is GPA of 3.5 for 7 semesters. NISCA is a GPA of 3.79 for 7 semesters.

Women; Savannah Cain, Megan Corum, Margaret Locke, Morgan Makinen, Diane Meason, Katherine Zibert.

Men; Morgan Poepping, Caleb Schober

All of these swimmers were also Porter Scholars at Beloit College and took multiple AP classes.

Zibert, Schober, Poepping, and Makinen have been accepted to UW-Madison. Diane Meason Marquette University (ROTC Scholarship). Margaret Locke Carol University (Academic Scholarship). Savannah Cain (UW-Milwaukee). Megan Corum (Lawrence University or Knox College).

Swim Lessons

USA State 12 & Under Meet

Several Beloit TIDE swimmers swam in the Wisconsin LSC State Swim Meet.

Nathan Sill (12) of the Beloit Middle TIDE (OLA) lead the way with two top 8 finishes and the podium. 
In the 12&Under Boys: Nate finished 4th in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 29.33 and 6th in the 100 Freestyle 56.71. His 100 Freestyle swim was a AAA time qualifying for the Zone championships.
Nate also finished in the top 16 in the 200 IM, 200 Free, and the 50 Breaststroke.

Other Beloit TIDE swimmers in the meet were 10 & under swimmers; Faith Sill(10)(OLA), Sydney Prowse(10)(Morgan), and Ben Saladar(10)(Morgan).

It was a Great Weekend for our Future Purple Knights!!

TIDE Banquet & Awards Last Night

The Purple TIDE Boys had their end of the season Banquet last night. It was a night of great emotion as we said good bye to a group of outstanding seniors.

This was by far one of the most rewarding seasons I ever coached, not just because of the new pool, but what we over came as a team to achieve the success we had this year.

WIAA State Meet Results

The Purple TIDE finished 35 at the WIAA State Meet Saturday.

Caleb Schober finished 13th in the 100 Breaststroke with a lifetime best of 1:00.64, the third fastest time in school history, passing Jimm Rogers (81) on the list.

Chance Murray finished with the 500 1 second slower than his qualifying time with a 5:00.99.

TIDE Ranked 28th in Coaches Poll and Other News

After amazing weekend of swimming Beloit jumped back into the WISCA coaches poll with a ranking of 28th. 

The TIDE has a least one swimmer Ranked in the Top 50 in each event, with Caleb Schober ranked the highest in an individual event 9th. 


In other News, the TIDE Natatorium is now listed by NISCA as a certified competition pool to set National High School and American Records.

Last but not least:

TEAM MEETING for all Swimmers JV, Varsity BOYS and GIRLS Tuesday February 18th after school in Natatorium.

WIAA Middleton Sectional Summary

What an outstanding day for the TIDE today. Like I always say, it's not February yet and we have been outstanding in February again. The TIDE finished 7th out of 12 with all 12 swimmers scoring points.

Chance Murray and Caleb Schober qualified for the WIAA State Meet next Saturday. This will be Caleb's third state meet and Chance's first. 

Caleb qualified in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:00.82 4th fastest in school history, finishing 2nd.
Chance Murray qualified in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:59.81 5th fastest in school history, finishing 8th.

The team swam 100% on its season best times, with 90% on lifetime best swims. Christian Schober also stood on the podium today with and 8th place in the 100 Back with a 58.46 the 10 fastest in school history. The 9th place 200 Free Relay of Christian Schober, Justin Stanton, Chance Murray, Caleb Schober finished with a 1:33.99 the 8th fastest swim in school history.
