Tough Loose, But Great Swimming

The Tide drop its meet with Janesville Craig 99-71 and the J.V. 77-76.

But the Tide made them earn every point. Madeline Franklin led the way with two wins in the 50 Free 26.35 and the 100 Fly 1:06.03. Beloit's other 1st place came in a 1,2,3 sweep in the 100 Back. Diane Meason won the back in 1:10.29, 2nd place went to Jackie Townshend and 3rd to Maggy Locke.

The Tide finished 2nd in eight different events:
200 Medley Relay: Meason, Morgan Makinen, Caroline Locke, Kallie Oldenburg. Kallie's split of 25.02 is one of the fastest splits in school history.

200 Free: CeCe Cardenas 2:13.80
200 IM: Caroline Locke 2:42.64
100 Free: Cardenas 59.91, swim the 16th fastest time in school history.
200 Free Relay: Cardenas, Oldenburg, Maggie Gianvecchio, Franklin 1:49.79
100 Breaststroke: Makinen 1:21.10
400 Free Relay: Cardenas, Caroline Locke, Gianvecchio, Franklin 4:02.78 10th fastest time in school history.

Coach Waite said "It was the loudest swim meet she had every been to."

Ladies you represented Beloit well tonight. Carry your Heads High!! Now lets do it again tomorrow.

The TIDE's next meet is at Rockford Boylan for the Hononegah Pentathlon.
